The Opportunity
We currently have an opening for a Restaurant Capacity Deployment Consultant within the National Operations Department in our Toronto, Burnaby & Dorval offices. Leaders in this position will report to the National Deployment Manager. Leaders in this role will have a primary responsibility of the deployment of new Restaurant Capacity Initiative solutions across all McDonald’s Canada restaurants, which entail the following objectives:
- Ensure all assigned new Restaurant Capacity Initiative projects are successfully deployed and implemented.
- Work with franchisees and their teams on the readiness, training, launch and certification process for their restaurant operations investment projects.
- Work with the National Capacity team and National Operations team to ensure operating procedures and processes are aligned with approved standards and guidelines.
- Complete in-person support visits and virtual consultations with franchisees and restaurant teams.
- Work with restaurant teams to identify any post launch deficiencies or action steps needed to properly execute.
- Develop new processes and procedures to further enhance the successful use of capacity enablers in the restaurants.

Principal Accountabilities
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide virtual and in-person support, guidance and oversight to restaurant launch plans for capacity projects.
- Work directly with restaurant and organization leaders on implementation and execution of restaurant operations.
- Collaborate with other capacity team leaders as well as front line field leaders on any key learnings, insights and problem solving.
- Influence and support action planning for restaurant teams along their capacity deployment journey.
- Directly and Indirectly support the certification of restaurants who have completed their capacity initiative deployment in the areas of Equipment, Technology and Restaurant Operations.
The experience:
- Relevant experience as a restaurant operations leader or manager
- Experience working in fast-paced and multi-functional matrix organizations.
- Detailed understanding of Restaurant Staffing and Restaurant Operations; experience working in high-paced Retail & Quick-Serve Restaurant industry is a major asset.
- Ability to identify, document and articulate business and technical requirements.
Collaborative and communication skills:
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with management, staff, and external partners.
Innovative problem-solving skills:
- Critical thinker and ability to escalate when assistance is needed in a timely manner.
Ability to travel across Canada for training and restaurant deployment 12-16 days per month (approximate).
Bilingualism (French, English) – For this position, when an employee is based in Montreal, French will be the primary language of business. In addition to the knowledge of French, the position of Restaurant Capacity Deployment Consultant requires strong oral and written English skills.
